Grandpa Walt discovers FaceTime and the whole family regrets it
For Christmas, the grandkids bought Grandpa Walt an iPad and showed him how to FaceTime.
The first week was rough. He held it up to his ear like a phone. He called his daughter at 5:15 a.m. to ask if she could hear him, and she could, but she could only see his left nostril. He called his grandson and talked for forty minutes to what turned out to be the ceiling fan.
By the second week, Walt had it figured out, and that was when the real trouble started.
He FaceTimed from the barber’s chair. He FaceTimed from the grocery store to ask which of the eleven kinds of mustard was “the normal one.” He FaceTimed during a funeral to show everyone the casket, which he said was “very reasonably priced.” He FaceTimed from somewhere echoey and tiled, and nobody asked any questions.
At Thanksgiving, the family finally sat him down. His daughter took his hand. “Dad, we love you. But please. No more FaceTime. If you need something, just call like a normal person.”
Walt looked around the table at all of them. “Fine,” he said quietly. “No more FaceTime.”
Everyone relaxed. It was a lovely dinner.
Reveal the punchline 😂
At 6 a.m. the next morning, the doorbell rang. Walt was standing on the porch with a coffee. “You said no more FaceTime,” he said. “Which mustard is the normal one?”
How funny was it?
