A horse walks into a bar and has finally had enough
A horse walks into a bar. The bartender looks up and says, “Why the long face?”
The horse sighs, sits on a stool and orders a whiskey. “You know how many bars I’ve walked into?” he says. “Thousands. Every single one, same line.”
Before the bartender can answer, the door swings open. A skeleton walks in and orders a beer and a mop. A grasshopper hops up to the bar, and the bartender says, “Hey, we’ve got a drink named after you!” and the grasshopper says, “You’ve got a drink named Steve?”
Then a priest, a rabbi and a duck walk in together, and the bartender throws down his towel. “What is this, some kind of joke?”
“YES,” says the horse. “That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you! We’re all stuck in it! The skeleton’s been here since 1952. The duck can’t even drink. He just keeps asking for grapes!”
The bartender looks around the room. He looks at the duck. He looks at the skeleton mopping up its beer. He slowly realizes he has only ever worked in this bar, and he can’t remember his own name, or where he lives, or what’s outside that door.
He pours himself a drink with shaking hands, slides one to the horse, and puts a hand on his shoulder.
Reveal the punchline 😂
He opens his mouth to say something comforting, and what comes out is: “So… why the long face?”
How funny was it?
