In the bustling streets of New York, a couple stands by the bus stop, their nine kiddos in tow. Shortly, a blind gentleman joins the growing queue. As luck would have it, when the bus rolls in, it’s nearly full, only room enough for the wife and children to squeeze aboard.
Touched by the situation, the blind man offers his spot to the youngsters. Grateful, the wife suggests her husband stroll home pushing the youngest in the stroller. Moved by the blind man’s kindness, the New Yorker opts to accompany him home instead.
Off the bus goes, and the two men embark on their journey, the baby snoozing away. But not for long—the tapping of the blind man’s cane awakens the infant, who begins to wail. The father, already miffed about the missed bus ride, snaps, “Ever thought of putting a rubber tip on that stick? The noise is maddening!”
The blind man quips back, “Had you thought to put rubber on your own ‘stick,’ we’d both be sitting on that bus right now!”
