Two police officers responding to a domestic disturbance with shots fired, arrive on scene.
After discovering the wife had shot her husband for walking across her freshly mopped floor, they call their sergeant on his cell phone.
“Yes?” answers the sergeant gruffly.
“Hello Sarge,” says the cop.
“It looks like we have a homicide here,β the officer reports.
“What happened?” the sarge demands.
The officer explains, “A woman has shot her husband for walking on the floor she had just mopped.”
“I see,” says the sarge. “Have you placed her under arrest?”
“No sir, not yet,β the officer replies.
“And why the heck not?” demands the sergeant.
The officer answers,
“The floor is still wet.”
