A priest finds himself seated next to a heavily intoxicated man on a bus.
The man, struggling to read the newspaper, turns to the priest and asks, “Do you know what arthritis is?”
Seizing the opportunity to impart some wisdom, the priest responds, “Arthritis is a condition often associated with a lifestyle of excess β excessive alcohol consumption, drug use, and indulgence in other vices such as promiscuity and gambling.”
Satisfied with the priest’s explanation, the drunk continues reading the newspaper.
Curious, the priest later inquires, “How long have you been suffering from arthritis?”
To which the drunk replies,
“Oh, I don’t have arthritis. In the paper is says that the Pope does.”
